Perennial's Bloom Background

Perennial's Bloom is a culmination of over two years of hard work, revisions, rereads, sweat, and tears. But it means so much more to me than just words on a page or a Kindle. Perennial's Bloom is every bit of my soul and feelings harnessed into a single message: Life is a series of seasons, and we bloom in some, and we hibernate in others, but it's always important to stay true to yourself and stick to your dreams, because one day

you

will

bloom

again.

Where we start out...

Perennial's Bloom and the Perennial Cycle series start out in a small town at the center of the thickest forest in Couretania, Forset. This town is home to a witch who brings candy to children, makes birth control potions for her firends and neighbors, and loves to lay in her bed. However, when this story starts out, almost 400 years after Celadon Cailleach's last journey when she was labeled "The Great Hero", our heroine wants to be anything BUT a hero again. What will it take to get her moving, out of her shop on the edge of the woods? Read and find out!

What I hope people take away...

As a student in high school, I never really believed it when teachers or people told me that books had themes...purposes outside of telling a story. Now, as an author I can tell you two things I've learned that tell me just how wrong I was.

1. I am writing with an intention of showing someone who is down and out. Crippled by her fear, anxiety, and guilt. But, by showing that she has the strength to even just get up out of bed daily. I want everyone to see that your best doesn't have to be a lot. It could be as simple as following through on delivering a potion to your best customer when you can deign to get out of bed.

2. I as a writer didn't necessarily INTEND to put more than that message into my story. BUT, I've discovered that writing and discovering and building a world that feels real, creates issues and topics of discussion that stem from how I feel about the world and what's going on, because you write what you know. And sure, I know how fantasy worlds and stories go. But I know a hell of a lot more about real life, and feel that it might ring through for many readers what's on my mind.
